Introduction:
q The covenant is God’s bailout instrument from ALL harsh economic situations – Mal. 3:10-11/17-18/                      Mal. 4:1-4
q We are ONLY EMPOWERED for financial dominion on the platform of the covenant – Duet.8:18
q But what is a Covenant? A deal enacted by God based on well-defined terms and sealed with an oath.                          - Heb. 6:13-18.
q Financial dominion anchors on the covenant of seed time and harvest– Gen. 8:20-22/ 2Cor. 9:6-10/                Phil. 4:15-19/ Gal. 6:7-9
q Our seed is not a financial donation to ‘help’ God, the church, ministry or the minister! - Ps. 50:14/                       Hag. 2:6-8/ Lk. 22:35
q Our giving is a spiritual transaction for provoking all-round favour - Gen.8:20-22/ Gen. 22:15-22                                        /2Cor 9:6-11/ 2 Sam. 24:24-25
q But we need the giving grace to sustain an ever growing giving life - Jn 10:17-18/ 2Cor 8:3/7
q The question now is, how reliable is the covenant? As long as the day and night keep changing position and the Sun and Moon continue to rule the day and night, all of God’ covenant in scriptures remains in force, including the covenant of financial prosperity – Jer. 33:20-25

What is a Covenant? (Recall from the introduction.)

The covenant is superior to all prevailing economic situations and circumstances                                    – Ps. 33:18-19/ Ps. 37:18-19/Ps 91:1-7
· Every generation of covenant people in history went through economic challenges triumphantly                              – Eccl. 1:9-10
ü Abraham in spite of famine became very rich in cattle, silver and gold – Gen. 12:10/ Gen. 13:2
ü Isaac in spite of the prevalent draught, went forward, waxed great and the Philistines envied him                          – Gen. 26:1/12-14
ü The famine was sore in the land in the days of Jacob, but he had more than enough money to import food for his household – Gen. 42:1-2/7/10/ Gen. 43:1/11-12
ü Money failed in Egypt, yet, God’s people prospered exceedingly therein – Gen. 47:15-27
· Covenant practice empowers us to prevail in hard times – Mal. 3:10-18/ Mal. 4:1-4/ Jer. 33:20-25

What is a Covenant? (Recall from the introduction.)
Why God Blesses
God blesses us primarily so that we can be a blessing to our world (Gen 12:1-3).
This is why:
Ø God will not bless anyone beyond his commitment to the promotion of the Kingdom of God                           – Hag 1:4-11/Mal 3:6-10/ 1 Kgs 8:17-18
Ø God will not bless anyone beyond his commitment to blessing the needy around him - Pro 28:27/                           Job 29:4-17/Pro. 11:24-25
Ø God will not bless any man beyond his commitment to giving towards the wellbeing of mankind                          – Gen 22:17-18/ Matt 25:31-41/ 1 Tim. 6:17
Ø God will not bless anyone beyond his commitment to impact the nations with his fortune                                          – Deut. 28:1-2/ 12/ Deut. 15:6/ 2 Cor. 9:8
Ø But giving must be done with discretion We must have a covenant understanding of giving priorities - tithing, worship offering, Kingdom promotion givings, giving to parents, giving to the poor, etc - Ps 112:5
